Frustration

The Seven Faces of Christ

Mark embarked upon this project with no illusion as to the results. Rather it was a step of faith. A search of things to come. The results speak for themselves, with this brilliant gallery of paintings. After a lot of prayer and sweat Mark finally completed this series in June 2009. It is now on display at his Art School, located on his Canterbury farmlet.

This project was a landmark in Marks career, sparking an artistic flare in Mark he had not felt earlier. Mark takes his inspiration from many places and being a committed Christian, this series has great meaning to him.

Mark is continuing with this theme and has many paintings inspired by his faith. The latest of which is 'The Bridge' a painting depicting the crucifixion and how Christ bridged the gap between mankind and God, in order for us all to be able to have a loving and personal relationship with God, through Him (John 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.)

I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes (Romans 1:16)

Anger Death Frustration Peace Power Sorrow Resurrection

In these paintings called "Seven Faces of Christ" Mark is trying to bring out some of the expressions of Jesus life and ministry. At the same time telling a story, the same one St Paul spoke of often (For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures - 1Cor 15:3.)

Peace is a good starting point for many people because the lack of peace so many experience drives us to start searching looking for the Saviour. Jesus promised peace, He is The Prince of Peace

As Jesus approached Jerusalem he felt sorrow because of what Gods people had become. They had turned their faith in God into nothing but rules and regulations bringing upon themselves heavy burdens.

Jesus often became frustrated when teaching because of the lack of faith in their hearts. The frustrations were bearable and we are like children of God.

Anger was seen in the temple, when Jesus saw what the religious people were making of the Temple Court

Jesus finally paid the ultimate price for our forgiveness, His death on the Cross and God turning away from Him.

For a period of three days Jesus entered the depths of the earth and Hades, there he took the keys of death and Hades, and on the third day rose. He showed himself to many people before He ascended to the right hand side of our Lord God. He will return again one day, until then His faithful followers will tell His story called "the Good News"
